Position Summary
The Department of English at Brigham Young University-Idaho invites applications for a full-time teaching position focused on professional writing and editing. The department is looking for a faculty member with professional experience and/or academic expertise in professional or technical writing/editing along with experience and/or expertise in teaching general education writing classes. Writing instruction in general education composition courses will be an integral and vital component of this position. In addition to teaching courses in these areas, the faculty member will be required to advise students and fulfill departmental and university assignments.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Advanced degree in English (or related field) required (masters minimum); demonstrated commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching is required. Professional editing experience is preferred.
Work Schedule Full-time faculty members teach 36 load hours annually, across Fall, Winter, and Spring Semesters; this total includes up to 6 load hours of professional development. In the days immediately preceding and following semesters, faculty members attend meetings, grade papers, perform professional development activities, etc. Semesters last approximately 14 weeks, and annual faculty contracts cover 47.5 weeks.

Courses, and other department responsibilities, are assigned by the department chair.
